Recommended Radio

Was driving in the car home from Redcastle, having no ipod in my car I tend to skip between radio stations for something at least listenable. I came across this gem of a radio show, oddly it was on a Irish radio station, RTE RNAG. Pretty much played the trippiest minimal techno available for a dark drive home.

Recommended listening would be last Wednesdays show, and to get the idea of what was playing on the drive home, go to 1hr33min on the streamed version(Simon Baker Tune around 1hr40!). Absolute tune I have no idea what is called!

Other recommended listening would be Maiden City Radio Thursday nights at 8 o'clock. Old Skool classic techno with a bit of humor, excellent listen! Happy traveling!

Celtronic 2009

One of the highlights of the year for people in Derry and from all over.

Some of the biggest names in electronic music will converge on Derry at the end of June for Celtronic 2009.

Now firmly established as Ireland's leading electronic music festival, Celtronic 2009 will be the acclaimed festival's ninth edition.
A recent issue of dance music bible, DJ Magazine described Celtronic as 'Northern Ireland's answer to Sonar...
Celtronic 2009 will feature some of the biggest names from all areas of quality electronic music.

Headliners include the world's finest house music DJ, Dixon from Innervisions Records, Berlin, electronic maestro Ulrich Schnauss, French electro/techno genius Brodinski, DJ/Remixer du jour, Duke Dumont, live dubstep and electronica from scene leaders Milanese and Boxcutter, a rare live set from Cocoon Recordings Phil Kieran, live folktronica from James Yuill and festival favourite Tom Middleton returns to close the festival alongside London disco heavyweights, Horsemeat Disco. The festival will also feature a selection of the finest Irish DJs and live acts.

DC10, Ibiza

Hows it going everyone...back again for my second post and if you haven't already guessed ill be doing them on my favourite pubs and clubs around the world. This time around its a bit more high key than Sandinos when we go all the way to Ibiza for the legendary DC10.

DC10 started in 2000 and quickly gained a reputation as one of the best clubs in Ibiza. Sessions originally began at 6am as a safe haven for all of those out there still going strong from the night before. Before long the 65 person capacity for the venue was being exceeded regularly and by a vast amount of people. Around 1500 people began filling it to the rafters while listening to some of the most serious names in dance music such as Ricardo Villabos, Magda, Sasha and Luciano to name a few.

Unfortunately for all you serious clubbers out there the wonders of DC10 will not be able to be viewed just quite yet as it was closed by the Spanish authorities...Dont panic though....its due to reopen for more of the same at the end of the summer.

Check this out...Magda playing at the legendary DC10...this sort of thing can be seen around all the clubs in Ibiza but started here.
